David Rotem has been named senior vp of sales for WGN America, effective immediately. In his new role, Rotem will oversee sales operations for the Tribune Broadcasting network, including all marketing and product integration strategies. Based in New York, he reports to Julio Marenghi, executive vp of sales and distribution. Most recently, Rotem served as principal of Escape Multimedia, where he consulted for a number of media sales organizations, including Redegg Partners and NESN. Previously, Rotem was senior vp/group leader multimedia sales for ESPN Media. Over the course of his 20-year career, Rotem also has held sales/marketing jobs at ABC and CBS.

Former Lifetime creative director Rob Jacobson has been named senior vp, marketing for Planet Green. In his new role, Jacobson oversees Planet Green’s marketing, branding and research strategy. He reports to president and general manager Laura Michalchyshyn. Since 2007, Jacobson had served from as senior vp, executive creative director, Lifetime. He elected to remain in New York when the network’s marketing and communications divisions relocated to Los Angeles earlier this year. Before that, Jacobson was the executive vp creative director of G-Whiz Entertainment (formerly Grey Entertainment). In her new role, Dolan will be charged with devising a brand identity for the network, which will launch in late 2009 or early 2010. She also will steer all on-air, print, radio and online marketing messaging. Dolan spent the better part of a decade at Nike, where she attained the role of corporate vp and director of global marketing. She left the company in 1997 to start a marketing consultancy business. In 2001, Dolan and her four sisters launched the talk-radio program, Satellite Sisters, where she served as an executive producer and co-host. She also managed all sponsorship sales and online content creation for the show, which was distributed by public radio and ABC Radio Networks...Cox Communications has named Leo Brennan chief operations officer, effective Jan. 1. In his new role, Brennan will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations at the cable company, which serves 6.2 million subscribers. The position, which was previously held by current Cox president Pat Esser, has been vacant since 2006. A 35-year cable vet, Brennan previously served as senior vp and general manager of the Cox’ Las Vegas system. Prior to that Brennan logged 15 years as general manager of the operator’s Orange County, Calif. system, overseeing the 1997 launch of the industry’s first triple-play bundle of video, high-speed Internet and telephone service.

Radio programmer Jon Zellner is returning to terrestrial radio as senior vp of programming for Clear Channel Radio, effective July 20. Zellner was most recently senior vp of music programming for Sirius XM. In his new position, Zellner wil work with CCR's program directors, reporting to Mark Kopelman, executive vp of operations for CCR.

Long-time Arbitron executive Jay Guyther has joined ROI Media Solutions, a full-service broadcast consulting firm, as partner. In his new position, Guyther will spearhead, on behalf of ROI's clients, the company's outreach to agencies and advertisers to help them plan and buy radio. Before joining ROI, Guyther held a number of sales and management positions, serving most recently as senior vp of ratings services and senior vp of global portable people meter marketing and business development...Former Nickelodeon president Herb Scannell has been elected to chair WYNC Radio’s board of trustees. Scannell is chairman and co-founder of the media company Next New Networks, which markets itself as “TV for the Internet.” Launched in fall 2006, NNN that produces, packages, brands and syndicates some of the Web’s most popular episodic video programming. As part of Clear Channel Outdoor's strategy to expand its international footprint, the company named BBDO Europe's William Eccleshare as president and CEO of CCO's International division, effective Sept. 2009. Most recently chairman and CEO of BBDO Europe, Eccleshare will be responsible for all of CCO's business outside the Americas. Like Paul Meyer, president and CEO of CCO's Americas division, Eccleshare will report to Mark Mays, CEO of Clear Channel Outdoor.
