The pic is 20 Minutes too long. The final sequence is boring as you know that they will survive. Great CGI and other nice ideas e.g. the Titanic-Model in the opening sequence foreshadowing the end of the movie

Depressing
While the young actor was very talented, and the animation was well executed, this film was depressing and not something I think impressionable children should see. The message of the movie seemed to be "Don't aspire to be anything great, like a king who has hopes to make a difference in the world, because in the end, we are all just regular people and you will only screw things up."

So I gotta say.... "The men who stare at goats" was vastly entertaining. George Clooney, Jeff Bridges, Ewan McGregor and Kevin Spacey were perfectly casted. I admit I came into the theater already impressed with them casting Jeff Bridges. I have loved him ever since "the big lebowski". The guys incredible. I saw previews of him and was so intrigued because i got the impression he was going to play a hardcore military type and thought it would be a nice change. But soon found out he was his same ol' lovable "dude" he's always been. anywho. Most of the movie makes you think they are going to pull a "Dallas" on you and the main characters just gunna wake up from a dream and that nothing was real. That only aids to the suspense it makes you wonder whats really going on in our government that we arent aware of. There were many funny quips and halarious scenes from lsd strung military to barney the purple dinosaur torturing prisoners... if that doesnt get your interest you must see this simply for George Clooneys "sparkling eyes" or Ewan Mcgregors sexy accent. ;] go see it. deff. worth the ticket.

over stylisitc -not in a good way
The movie misses the mark, the style is too busy taking away the focus from the story that lacking is of fluidity right from the start. You can tell that Wes Anderson has no animation experience and as a result is all over the place.

empathized with the character
I remembered how I protected my little brother and how I never left him home alone because I did not want him to be lonely. I now have a son who is sensitive, creative, and a loner in some way like max. He cried several times feeling sadness, loneliness and also joy of coming back together as Max returns home. My husband also expressed deeply stirred emotion growing up in a broken home experiencing many moments of loneliness or lack of secure figures in life or longing for a fatherly protector for his world. He expressed the world with the wild things like a world without the spiritual guidance or true belief system to keep order. All of us came out with teary eyes feeling something within our hearts that we identify with someone in the film. I wished that I saw the movies when I was younger struggling in my family.

I also decided to go with my family to see a movie on this cold and rainy Saturday afternoon. We left with a poor message and bad modeling. In the book, Max goes to his imaginary land IN HIS ROOM. His room turns into a jungle. In the movie, he runs away. Was that really necessary? Biting his mother? We were going to leave, but were hoping for some sort of message or lesson in the end to turn the whole thing around. But, it never came. How disappointing.
