BBC Films, Origin team for 'Thunderstorms'

July 01, 2009 BBC Films and David Thompson's Origin Pictures have secured film rights to the forthcoming London-set novel "Ordinary Thunderstorms," from thriller-writer William Boyd, the parties said Wednesday. The novel, which is due for publication in September, promises to be a "highly compelling" thriller set against the backdrop of a London-based drug-testing conspiracy, where an ordinary man is accused of a crime he didn't commit and is forced to go on the run around the capital. "We've long been fans of William's work and it's fantastic to be collaborating with him and Origin on this particularly vivid project," said Jane Wright, managing director and executive producer at BBC Films.
