CBS gets Smart, Savage
March 23, 2008 Amy Smart has been tapped as the lead in CBS' drama pilot "Meant to Be's," and Fred Savage has landed the lead on another CBS pilot, comedy "Single White Millionaire," lifting the contingency on the project. "Meant to Be's," from CBS Paramount and creator Glenn Gordon Caron, is a romantic drama about Janine (Smart), a wealthy young gallery owner in New York who elopes one night only to be thrown from her 40th-floor balcony en route to her honeymoon. Smart next will be seen in "Life in Flight," screening at the Tribeca Film Festival, and soon will reprise her role of Eve in the sequel to the indie "Crank."
