'Lie' detects Phifer and Beals


July 05, 2009 Mekhi Phifer, who appeared in the last two episodes of the crime drama's freshman season, will return as a series regular. Beals will continue as Assistant U.S. Attorney Zoe Landau, Cal Lightman's (Tim Roth) ex-wife and mother of their teenage daughter. The 20th/Imagine-produced "Lie" is set to kick off its sophomore season Sept. 28 with Shawn Ryan as the new showrunner.
