Paramount plans a hit on 'Falcone'

November 04, 2008 Buchman is writing the script, and Soderbergh will executive produce the project, which tells the story of Joaquin "Jack" Garcia, also known as Jack Falcone, a Cuban-American FBI agent who successfully went undercover in the Gambino crime family. Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher will produce via their Double Feature Films banner, while TV personality John Henson, who is a childhood friend of one of Garcia's FBI associates and alerted Shamberg and Sher to the story, will also produce. The UTA-repped Buchman is an in-demand scribe who in addition to Soderbergh's Benicio Del Toro starrer "Che" -- the ambitious revolutionary tale IFC will soon release -- penned the script for "Eragon" as well as Miramax's upcoming "The Wonga Coup" and Werner Herzog's period drama "The Piano Tuner."
