Producer Gilbert Adler livening up 'Dead'


February 25, 2009 Producer Gilbert Adler is sinking his teeth into the horror film "Dead of Night," which starts production today in New Orleans. [...] DRAC Studios, whose creative director, Greg Cannom, won the makeup Oscar for "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," has come on to handle makeup effects. The $20 million indie has acquired financing from Omnilab Media ("The Bank Job," "W.") and Hong Kong-based Standard Chartered Bank, a surprising feat in such a battered film-financing market.
