DJ AM series still in play at MTV
September 24, 2009 MTV intends to air DJ AM's drug-intervention reality series that was shot just before he died. MTV, which declined to comment, has not made a final decision on whether to air the series, but sources say the network expects to air the program and has been in talks with Goldstein's family about the timing. Since "Gone" is an "Intervention"-style series, with Goldstein playing the role of a sober and experienced tough-love guide for troubled addicts, there was concern the show would seem hypocritical or exploitative.
