CBS snags UMS comedy
September 02, 2009 In a sign that the ice between CBS and NBC Universal is thawing in the wake of NBC canceling the veteran CBS Studios-produced drama "Medium" in May, CBS has picked up a comedy project from Universal Media Studios headlined and co-created by "Reaper" star Bret Harrison. The untitled project, which has received a script commitment, marks one of the first forays into television for feature producer Scott Stuber, whose Stuber Prods. has been ramping up TV development during the past several months under former 20th TV comedy head Quan Phung. Harrison, who got his start in TV series at 18 with a regular role on the sitcom "Grounded for Life," said he had been looking to do a buddy comedy and took the idea to Phung, with whom he had worked on several series including "Life" and "The Loop."
