The Contender Shifts to Versus


September 30, 2008 The reality boxing show The Contender is moving to Versus this season, following two seasons on ESPN and one on NBC. Versus is partnering with Mark Burnett Productions and Dreamworks Television to bring the series to the network, and actor and talk show host Tony Danza has been signed on to host. “The Contender is a perfect complement to our ever-growing portfolio of programming in the genre such as WBC, TapouT and Fight Night,” said Marc Fein, executive vp of programming, production and business operations for Versus.
