ABC locked in for '18 to Life'
July 28, 2008 ABC has picked up U.S. rights to the Canadian primetime comedy "18 to Life," a single-camera Canadian Broadcasting Corp. pilot from Montreal-based indie producer Galafilm. The deal, brokered by Alchemy Television, marks the first time Canadian and U.S. networks have jointly invested in a Canadian comedy pilot. The U.S. format rights to another CBC comedy, "Little Mosque on the Prairie," from producer Westwind Pictures was sold to 20th Century Fox Television.
