A&E commissions 'Son' from Murray

September 04, 2008 A&E is getting back into business with writer-producer Charles Murray after their recent collaboration on the drama pilot "Under," developing a new project centering on a city commissioner. "Son," from ABC Studios and Thom Beers' Original Prods., is an "Upstairs/Downstairs" look at the inner workings of a city commissioner's office and how his actions directly affect street crime in each police precinct. Murray is writing and executive producing; Beer and Original's Philip Segal are nonwriting exec producers.
