Arbitrator rules against Michael Ovitz

August 14, 2008 An arbitrator has ruled in favor of producer Cathy Schulman in her ongoing legal battle with Michael Ovitz and Studio Canal, according to sources close to the case. Schulman was president of Ovitz's film company, a joint venture between his Artists Production Group and Studio Canal, for two years before resigning in January 2002. Schulman claimed Ovitz fired her for disclosing that APG was allegedly stealing from Studio Canal's parent Vivendi by using personnel records and resources not related to their joint venture.
