'Gangster' tops charts
February 28, 2008 "American Gangster" outgunned best picture Oscar nominee "Michael Clayton" to top the national DVD sales and rental charts for the week ending Feb. 24. The Universal Studios Home Entertainment release -- with boxoffice earnings of $129.8 million, the first "event" title of the year -- sold an estimated 4 million units in its first week in stores. "Gangster" also scored big in the rental arena, according to Home Media Magazine's rental chart.
