TV households, viewers increase
August 24, 2007 Television might be under pressure from the Internet and other media, but the number of TV households remains on the rise, however slightly. Nielsen Media Research said Thursday that there will be 112.8 million TV households in the U.S. on Jan. 1 -- up 1.3% compared with a year ago. Nielsen uses the household and viewer estimates to help calculate the ratings that are currency for the networks and advertising industry.
