Bollywood posts January-June loss

July 07, 2008 A survey published by the Economic Times of India also showed ticket receipts of only $75 million for the 47 Hindi-language films released from January through June, well below industry expectations. "It's been a bad year (in that) major films have just tanked," film critic and industry analyst Rajeev Masand told The Hollywood Reporter. Similarly, the early July release of the big budget sci-fi romance "Love Story 2050" by Adlabs Films -- starring actress Priyanka Chopra and newcomer Harman Baweja -- drew negative reviews.
