Sarasota fest unveils winners
April 13, 2008 Lee Isaac Chung's "Munyurangabo" took the best narrative feature award, while Gonzalo Arijon's "Stranded: I Have Come From a Plane That Crashed on the Mountains" was named best documentary feature at the Sarasota Film Festival Competition and Audience Awards, which were held at the Longboat Key Club and Resort in Sarasota, Fla., on Saturday. A special documentary jury prize was presented to Tamar Yarom's "To See If I'm Smiling." Audience favorite awards went to Jeremy Podeswa's "Fugitive Pieces," narrative feature; Jody Lambert's "Of All the Things," documentary feature; Juha Wuolijoki's "Christmas Story," world cinema; and Amanda Micheli and Isabel Vega's "La Corona," short film.
