Summit flies to 'Moon' with 3-D pic


September 26, 2007 Summit Entertainment has acquired U.S. distribution rights to "Fly Me to the Moon," a computer-animated feature being produced for stereoscopic 3-D theatrical release by nWave in association with Illuminata Pictures. Featuring the voice cast of Christopher Lloyd, Tim Curry, Kelly Ripa, Nicollette Sheridan, Adrienne Barbeau and Robert Patrick, "Moon" is scheduled to open Feb. 15 domestically in 3-D in Imax theaters, as well as in 3-D-ready digital-cinema venues using 3-D technologies from such companies as Real D, Dolby 3D and Nuvision.
