'Bastardos' cracks Morelia festival lineup
August 04, 2008 The sixth annual Morelia International Film Festival, traditionally a key platform for up-and-coming Mexican talent, on Monday unveiled a lineup heavy on first- and second-time directors. Among the six features in official competition are Amat Escalante's immigrant-themed "Los Bastardos," which competed in Un Certain Regard sidebar at Cannes in May. Morelia also will unspool a slew of documentaries and shorts, which has long been the main focus of the festival.
