The 11th edition of CBS' reality franchise bowed to 17.8 million viewers and 6.4 rating/19 share in the adults 18-49 demographic, according to preliminary estimates from Nielsen Media Research.
At 9 p.m., the Big Four networks' schedules became disjointed by the live coverage of President Bush's speech to the nation from the heart of the post-Hurricane Katrina devastation in New Orleans.
CBS, which followed Bush's speech with an easily won the night overall with an average of 15.2 million viewers and 5.3/15 in adults 18-49.
