Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. has reached a deal with EMI Music North America to settle a over a portable music player sold by the broadcaster that enables users to store digital copies of music, the companies said Thursday. Recording companies fear such digital radio devices could threaten online music sales because users get to keep CD-quality songs without paying. Sirius' agreement with the record company, a unit of Britain's EMI Group PLC, follows separate deals with Vivendi Universal's Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group Corp. and Sony BMG Music Entertainment, a joint venture of Sony Corp. and Bertelsmann AG.
