If there's a lesson to be learned from last weekend's surprisingly strong kick off for 20th Century Fox's "Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story," it's that moviegoers are opting for escapist entertainment more than ever this summer. Understandably, at a time when the media's focus is on U.S. battlefield casualties in Iraq, terrorist threats at home and abroad and savage murders of hostages in the Middle East, the public is choosing movies offering the best chance of getting away from all that grim news. While Moore has managed to keep the media heat on "Fahrenheit" going full blast, there's no guarantee his picture's heightened awareness will translate into blockbuster ticket sales.
