The film, which won the World Documentary Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival, recently received its U.S. theatrical premiere at New York City's Film Forum. Having returned to Canada after leaving his command, he suffered from depression, alcoholism and post-traumatic stress disorder, created both by the horrors of what he had witnessed and by his own feelings of inadequacy over his failure to stop them.
