DreamWorks has optioned Scott Smith's novel "The Ruins" for Ben Stiller and Stuart Cornfeld's studio-based Red Hour Films to produce. Stiller and Cornfeld brought "Ruins" to recently installed production head Adam Goodman, who will oversee development along with production executives David Beaubaire and Grey Rembert. Smith is repped by the Lynn Pleshette Literary Agency's Lynn Pleshette and Michael Cendejas along with publishing agent Gail Hochman at Brandt & Hochman.
