Cinematographer-turned-director Ericson Core has signed on to direct "Liberty," a big-budget action movie for Touchstone Pictures being produced by LivePlanet.
The story, which takes place after an electromagnetic pulse disables the infrastructure of the country, revolves around a ragtag group of Americans who must use technology from the 1940s and '50s to defend against a foreign invasion.
Core is in postproduction on his directorial debut, "Invincible," a Walt Disney Co. football drama starring Mark Wahlberg.
