The 2003 AFI Los Angeles International Film Festival will honor Omar Sharif in its annual AFI Fest Tribute on Nov. During the course of a career that has spanned more than 50 years, Sharif has appeared in more than 70 films, including such classics as "Lawrence of Arabia," "Dr. Zhivago," "Funny Girl" and "The Tamarind Seed." The presentation will feature Minghella, film critic Peter Hammond and guests in an onstage interview focusing on the collaborative spirit of filmmaking.
