NEW YORK -- A true-life serial killer movie that manages the dubious feat of making its viewers feel nearly as evil and sleazy as the murderers it depicts, "The Hillside Strangler" is, as the press notes proudly proclaim, "from the makers of 'Ed Gein' and 'Ted Bundy.'" Presumably all three films will be made available in a DVD boxed set, surely the perfect holiday gift for your favorite psychopath.
The story begins with the arrival of former department store security guard Bianchi (C. Thomas Howell) and his reunion with his obviously deranged cousin Angelo (Nicholas Turturro), the owner of an automobile upholstery business.
Eventually the pair set up a low-rent escort business, and when one of their hookers betrays them, they wind up taking murderous revenge, setting off a killing spree that would last two years.
