Imagine if you will a teenage batboy taking the rap for a baseball player in possession of illegal drugs or -- and this requires even a greater suspension of credibility -- the entire New York news media respecting the privacy of the batboy by not calling his home or camping out at his doorstep. Sure, but in this touching and sweet family drama, you simply want to believe. "Clubhouse" is that rare family series that leaves you with a lump in your throat and a feeling that, "The O.C." notwithstanding, America's core values of integrity and fair play will indeed survive at least one more generation.
