ABC and Fox Television Studios are moving forward with a new version of the show, which originally featured creator-host Ralph Edwards surprising individuals with a presentation of his or her life story, including appearances from guests who had been part of that person's life.
While the specifics of the new version are being kept under wraps, Holly Jacobs, executive vp alternative development at Fox Television Studios, did say that the studio intends to "stay true to so many great pieces of the format."
Jacobs, who pointed out that the series will have "multigenerational" appeal, gave credit to Fox Television Studios vp alternative development Mindy Moore for her "passionate drive" to bring the show back to viewers and added that the timing felt right to do so.
