Peter Dinklage and Justina Machado are teaming to play husband and wife in an indie remake of the 1953 film "The Little Fugitive" for helmer Joanna Lipper and producers Frederick Zollo and Nick Paleologos.
In "Fugitive," Machado plays Natalia Morton, a dysfunctional young wife and mother who struggles to hold down two jobs while caring for her sons -- and stay sober -- after her husband (Dinklage) is incarcerated.
Nominated for a best screenplay Oscar in 1953, the original has been praised as an early example of independent filmmaking and for its innovative early use of hand-held cameras and editing techniques.
