Looking back at the summer boxoffice, in the midst of all those underperformers it's interesting to see that nine films that shared some common denominators still managed to crack $150 million between early May and late August. While the final domestic summer scoreboard won't be tallied until Labor Day has come and gone, there's no need to wait for that typically blah holiday weekend to play itself out. "War of the Worlds" (Paramount and DreamWorks) with about $232 million.
