Sylvester Stallone has sued MGM Pictures Inc. and other producers of the planned boxing reality show "The Real Rocky" for allegedly improperly associating the show with Stallone's "Rocky" character.
The case stems in part from the defendants' decision to produce "The Real Rocky" in direct competition with "The Contender," an NBC boxing reality series in which Stallone is a co-producer and star.
Stallone also wants compensatory and punitive damages and a declaration that he can go ahead with plans to produce "Rocky VI" without the permission or interference of the defendants.
