"The Omega Code 2" appears as part of the title on some marketing materials for "Megiddo," but the expensive Bible-inspired indie from 8X Entertainment is as ill-timed as 1999's surprise hit "The Omega Code" seemed commercially blessed, with its TBN-fueled show of support at the boxoffice and lots of media coverage. Directed by prolific British-Australian exploitation auteur Brian Trenchard-Smith and executive produced by televangelist Paul Crouch, this "Code" is a continuation of the "end of days" saga that sees "The Beast" attempt to bring about "hell on Earth." Whatever its official title (for the record, "Megiddo" is what appears onscreen), this hysterical creation wisely was bypassed by several major theater chains in its limited release that began Friday.
