Universal Pictures has hired Jonathan Jakubowicz to write and direct the big-screen adaptation of Robert Ludlum's "The Sigma Protocol." When a U.S. intelligence agent investigating his case finds herself discredited, the two end up on the run and uncover a vast multinational conspiracy manipulating the global economy and world events. Universal has had success adapting Ludlum's "Bourne" books, with the Matt Damon starrers "The Bourne Identity" and "The Bourne Supremacy" enjoying critical and boxoffice success.
