The drama set at a swanky Hawaiian hotel has been a slow starter for Fox ratings-wise since its debut in June as part of the network's effort to shift to a year-round programming cycle.
Fox entertainment president Gail Berman said the show had shown enough promise from a creative standpoint to warrant more time to find its legs.
"North Shore" revolves around the comings and goings at a Hawaiian resort, playing off the contrasts between the hotel staffers and their rich and famous clientele.
