Starring Beatrice Dalle as an insatiable doctor's wife who has a habit of devouring her sexual partners and a wooden Vincent Gallo as a similarly afflicted newlywed who's afraid to consummate his marriage to his pretty young wife (Tricia Vessey) for fear of similar repercussions, the straight-faced thriller deals with thematics better handled in "The Hunger." While Denis admittedly creates an effective atmosphere early in the game and is adept at portraying a certain breathy sexual longing, the story grows more ludicrous by the minute.
