Never one to settle for the conventional, prolific filmmaker Robert Rodriguez has turned the characters and stories dreamt up by his 7-year-old son Racer Max into a full-fledged, three-dimensional fantasy adventure. Emerging as a sort of "Sin City Jr.," the comic book stylings of "The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D" make for an often imaginative though less than magical family feature.
