'Dark Knight' leads Saturn Awards noms
March 10, 2009 The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences may have given "The Dark Knight" short shrift in the eyes of the movie's fans, but the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror fully endorsed the movie as it announced its nominations for the 35th annual Saturn Awards Tuesday. The Batman saga led the pack with 11 noms, including one for best action/adventure/thriller film, where it will compete with "Changeling," "Gran Torino," "Quantum of Solace," "Traitor" and "Valkyrie." "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" and "Iron Man" scored nine and eight nominations, respectively.
