Epix books Lewis Black comedy event


August 26, 2009 NEW YORK - Epix, the premium TV joint venture of Viacom, Lionsgate and MGM, on Wednesday unveiled an hour-long Lewis Black comedy special as one of its first major programming events that will also hit movie theaters in select markets. The network has said it plans to offer comedy, concert and other event-type programming in addition to movies and original TV shows. The Black event, "Stark Raving Black," filmed recently at the Fillmore Theater in Detroit, will be released in movie theaters in 20 U.S. markets, such as New York, LA, Chicago and Detroit, in the fall and include an introduction to Epix.
