'Year One' rating changed to PG-13

April 09, 2009 The MPAA's Classification and Rating Appeals Board on Tuesday upheld the R rating originally given to the movie in which Black and Michael Cera play a couple of barely out-of-the-cave men who travel through the ancient world. Apatow and Ramis appeared before the board to argue for a more lenient rating, but the appeals board still opted for the R, which requires moviegoers younger than 17 be accompanied by an adult, because of "some sexual content and language." The filmmakers then made cuts to the film, and as a result, the ratings board has now given it a PG-13 "for crude and sexual content throughout, brief strong language and comic violence."
