Fox Searchlight picks up 'Crazy Heart'


July 21, 2009 Bridges plays an aging country singer in "Heart," which multihyphenate Scott Cooper adapted from Thomas Cobb's book of the same name while getting a first directing credit. "Jeff Bridges delivers the performance of a lifetime," Searchlight co-toppers Nancy Utley and Steve Gilula said in announcing the acquisition Tuesday.
