Aida Begic's 'Snow' tops Critics Week
May 24, 2008 Aida Begic's "Snow" (Snijeg) fell on top of the winners list when the Festival de Cannes' Critics Week sidebar wrapped Friday night. Scribes Jean-Claude Van Rijckeghem et Pat Van Beirs won the SACD prize for best screenplay for "Moscow, Belgium," a dramatic comedy set in a working class neighborhood in Ghent from Belgian director Christophe Van Rompaey. The French distributor of "Moscow, Belgium" will receive 4,000 euros ($6,309) towards the film's theatrical release.
