Current TV flows north to Canada

November 10, 2008 The Canadian Broadcasting Corp. and Current Media plan to launch Current Canada as a cross-platform channel with TV and Web programming partly produced by young Canadians, the companies announced Monday. Current Canada will operate as both a Web site and a digital cable channel should the CBC be successful with a current license application before the country's TV regulator. Current Canada also will include bite-size "pods" that CBC executives hope will reshape how Canadian TV is consumed by the Internet generation.
