DiCaprio, Scorsese thriller sells in Europe
February 25, 2008 "Shutter Island," Martin Scorsese's upcoming Leonardo DiCaprio thriller, has been sold to several major European territories by Paramount Vantage International, chalking up some high figures along the way. TeleMunchen picked up "Shutter" for German distribution for a jaw-dropping $12 million, the most ever paid for an American film in the territory. TeleMunchen engaged in a fierce bidding war for the movie, topping Constantin, Tobis, Kinowelt and Senator.
