Oldenburg fest to honor Bruno Barreto
August 10, 2009 Brazilian director Bruno Barreto will be honored with a retrospective of his work at this year's Oldenburg Film Festival. Oldenburg will show a broad selection of the Oscar- and Golden Globe-nominated director's work, from his debut with the comedy "Dona Flor and Her Two Husbands" (1976) to the social realist drama "Last Stop 174" (2008) about a real-life bus hijacking in Rio de Janeiro. The 16th annual Oldenburg festival, which is set for Sept. 16-20, also will feature a tribute to directing duo Scott McGehee und David Siegel and will screen all four of the pair's feature films.
