DW flips film switch on 'Lamp' books


June 22, 2007 DreamWorks has acquired the film rights to the best-selling children's book series "Children of the Lamp." Nina Jacobson will produce through her DreamWorks-based shingle, and Oscar-nominated scribe Lee Hall ("Billy Elliot") has signed on to pen the screenplay. Jacobson, the former Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group topper, set up her first post-Disney project last week at DreamWorks: the sci-fi thriller "Dominion" (HR 6/15).
