July 17, 2008 Glenn Close was driving with her dogs, Bill and Jack, when she heard the news of her best actress nomination for her role in FX's "Damages." Just looking at the nominee lists, what happened this morning seems tremendously good for television. John Slattery, nominated for his supporting role in AMC's "Mad Men," was awake when the nominations were announced, but he was nowhere near a TV.
