M6 wins bidding war for 'Californication'
October 11, 2007 French public channel M6 has won out in a local bidding war with Canal Plus for Showtime's David Duchovny-starring series "Californication." "We're disappointed of course, but we're not going to die over it," said Sandra Ouaiss, Canal Plus head of acquisitions for foreign series. The Gallic broadcaster picked up ABC dramas "Dirty Sexy Money" and "The Reaper," FX's "Damages" and "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," NBC's recent Emmy winner "30 Rock" and the CW sitcom "Aliens in America."
