Newport fest honors 'Children'
June 07, 2009 Tze Chun's "Children of Invention" took the narrative feature jury prize at the 2009 Newport International Film Festival, which concluded Sunday in Newport, R.I. The documentary feature jury prize went to Aron Gaudet's "The Way We Get By." "The Way We Get By" also emerged as winner of the audience award for documentary, while Paola Mendoza and Gloria La Morte's "Entre Nos" was recognized with the audience award for narrative feature. Student film awards went to: "That Evening Sun," student narrative grand prize; Ondi Timoner's "We Live in Public," student documentary grand prize; and Sam Rockwell, who claimed student jury prizes as both best actor and best supporting actor for "Moon."
