'Twilight' dawns with huge first-day take


November 22, 2008 Summit Entertainment's "Twilight" dawned spectacularly at the domestic boxoffice this weekend. Preliminary estimates show the youthful vampire romance rang up a huge first-day tally of $35.7 million from Friday. Advance ticket sales through online ticketers Fandango and MovieTickets were through the roof leading up to the opening, amid reports of teen girls buying tickets in groups and also purchasing tickets for multiple engagements.
